Do thai restaurants put peanut butter in panang curry?

Do most thai restaurants put peanut butter in panang curry? Some recipes I've seen add peanut butter along with the coconut milk and panang paste and some don't. Do most restaurants add peanut butter or leave it out?Do thai restaurants put peanut butter in panang curry?
They don't use peanut butter. They put roasted peanut with the curry mix in their food processor or blender thus, it seems like it's peanut butter. Most of them use them, unless it's in a place where there are people who are allergic to it, and they would make adjustment with their recipe. Just depend where the restaurant is located. You can always asked them if they do or if the can make it without.Do thai restaurants put peanut butter in panang curry?
In an authentic Thai restaurant they would use roasted peanuts instead of peanut butter. Peanut butter is more common in recipes though because scooping a spoonful of it out of the jar is easier than roasting your own peanuts.

Are you allergic? If so you can ask in the restaurant because some might not use peanuts. The nuts are a key ingredient in Penang (or Panang) curry though, along with lemongrass, coconut, galangal, shallots, and some other ingredients, so if you don't want the peanuts you can ask for something nut-free or order a different dish.Do thai restaurants put peanut butter in panang curry?
Y'know most restaurants in my area (Chicago, IL and suburbs) omit the peanut butter or peanut sauce in Panang curry.
