There is a lady based in Australia called Charmaine Solomon, she does a wicked Thai cookbook, very easy to understand and you could get on ebay, probably. isbn number is 1-85471-444-9. Covers appetisers to desserts and all in between, curry pastes etc.A decent thai recipe book?
This has more than Thai food, but I have a cookbook called "Asia the Beautiful" and it has recipes, beautiful pictures, and (importantly) cultural background. It's my absolute favorite cookbook! It gives descriptions of each dish and often how/when it's eaten, and the important parts.
However, be aware that the recipes range from very simple to very complicated, and often they have you starting from scratch.
