Hi I recently went to a local Thai restaurant and had a wonderful dish they call Rama Spicy. Basically its a sweet, salty, and spicy ground meat dish served with flour wraps. The meat mixture has green onions, regular onions, jalapenos, and cilantro that I could see. Its not laab, larb, or larp. I am pretty sure I could taste anise, cumin, and ginger or other citrusy flavor. If you have a recipe for this you could share I would greatly appreciate it, or at least if you could give me a name for it so I might have an easier time trying to find it. Thanks for any help you can give me.Looking for recipe for Thai Spicy Ground Meat. Do you have one you could share?
Sounds like pad krapao (sweet basil stir fry). I'm Thai, and I have NEVER seen it served with flour wraps. It's sacrilege to not eat rice. Sounds like your fave restaurant is adapting to farang tastes.
Anyway, get a bundle of sweet basil, a pound of ground pork (to be traditional, but ground turkey works, too), nam pla, crushed bird chilis (two or three) and a little bit of stir fry oil (I like olive oil 'cause I'm somewhat health concious -- true Thais would use rendered lard).
Instructions: throw in wok over hot flame. Stir and brown. Thai food is mean to be simple and imprecise.Looking for recipe for Thai Spicy Ground Meat. Do you have one you could share?
